Artistic Director Kari Turunen leads the Vancouver Chamber Choir in this opening concert of our 2022/23 season, recorded at Pacific Spirit United Church. The repertoire features music inspired by the sea and music set to psalm texts – or a combination of both – and includes Bach, Byrd, Schütz, Evelin Seppar, Jaakko Mäntyjärvi and Matthew Whittall, our composer-in-residence for 22/23. The title work of the program, "Sea Psalm", is by Canadian composer Stephen Smith who is featured as the guest organist.
Please be sure to download the digital program which contains all of the texts, translations and program notes, and watch the pre-concert talk with Kari by clicking here or returning to the home page.
